One of the most important commodities on the world market is coffee, which comes from more than 80 growing countries. As with wine, climate and soil conditions influence quality and taste.
Arabica
This bean grows in the highlands. It is considered high quality and contains less caffeine. The plant is more sensitive and needs more looking after which makes it mild and aromatic with a noble acidity. However, not every Arabica coffee automatically is of high quality.
Robusta (Canephora)
This coffee bean is – as the name suggests – a very robust variety. Its caffeine content is higher, it is less vulnerable to heat and climatic influences. Its origin is in West Africa.
